The creator of this site, writer
and historian Dale Cox, has
pursued a lifetime study of
the details of the Battle of
Marianna. He wrote his first
published article on the battle
when he was twelve years
old. His 1989 book on the
subject, The West Florida
War, is now unavailable after
numerous printings. An
expanded edition will be
published later this year
under the title, The Battle of
Marianna: The History of
Florida's Forgotten Civil War
Battle.
